I was a big fan of the food here. The chicken enchilada was phenomenal! My husband got fajitas (chicken & steak) and raved about them all night! The bean dip and chips were SO GOOD. After being in the southwest and far north the past 10 years I was impressed. This was better and more flavorful than any of the Mexican I had in both Alaska and Phoenix!

From all the reviews I expected better. I'm originally from the west coast, so have had a lot of Mexican food over the years and have high standards. I ordered a combination dish of taco, tostada and chile relleno. I did not care for the type of overly ground beef in the taco and also in the chile relleno. I should have asked - I prefer cheese (and no meat) in my chile rellenos. It only had a small amount of cheese on top - none inside. So I scraped out the beef and just ate the chile with the cheese on top. I just need to make my own at home. Tostada was good. I gave it 4 stars because the place was very clean and staff was friendly and attentive. As stated - I should have asked before I ordered the chile relleno.

Nice clean restaurant, with a very welcoming and friendly staff. Their chips are fresh and warm and come with a bean dip and they have a...salsa bar. They have about ten salsas to choose from and you can go back as often as your heart desires, but you better be quick because their kitchen is freaky fast. I ordered the Chile Colorado, which they call carne adovada in Colorado and New Mexico. It was pretty good but came cooked with potatoes, which was a first. I also ordered a Chile relleno and it was the best one I have had since we moved to Virginia from the southwest in 2013. Will be back. My wife had carne asada, a beef taco and chicken tamale. The carne asada was great but had what seemed like 3 onions on it. The taco was...a taco and the tamale was strange because she ordered it with beef and what that meant was it was a chicken tamale, smothered with beef.

Growing up with the unique New Mexico cuisine at my fingertips has made me VERY picky about the Mexican food I eat. This place pleased the pallet. We started with traditional chips and instead of salsa they served a bean dip with cheese. However, they had an all you want salsa bar with 9'different salsas. I went with traditional salsa and it was delicious! I had to try a little of everything so I went with Carne Asada and the meat was tender and tasty, served with cactus, roasted jalapeño, beans (not refried but served whole with meat and other spices), rice, and sides of tomato, lettuce, avocado slices, and a lime. Good portion but I wanted to stuff myself and wanted more meat. I also tried a hard shelled beef taco and it was also tasty. There is more! I tried a tamale and they asked if I wanted chicken or beef and went with beef. However be forewarned the tamale is a traditional chicken tamale (tasty masa by the way) and they put beef on top. That was different so I just moved the beef aside and enjoyed the chicken tamal. I also tried my husbands Chile relleno and it was also very good! Not deep fried in batter so if you like yours coated is a greasy batter you may want to pass. We loved it! Restaurant was clean and nice Mexican ambiance. KService was friendly and food came out very fast! I would recommend this place and will be back to try more! Enjoy!

So glad I found this place! My new favorite Mexican restaurant in Harrisonburg. Service was very slow, but acknowledged it and was so sweet so it wasn't a problem at all. They also have a salsa bar, so we were busy trying all of the salsas to really notice. Their margaritas are very sweet and taste like the mix you can buy at the store, however I love those so it was very good to me. The food was pretty good. I got the #1 combination dinner. My cheese enchiladas weren't anything special, but still good. Their veggie fajitas come with spinach which we thought was weird but very good. The fajitas-for-two is more like fajitas-for-four! It comes with so much food so that was a big plus. All in all, nothing spectacular, but the salsa bar is really fun and I would definitely come here over other Mexican restaurants in the area!
